WHY A DOULA

The benefits of a continuous presence

Deeply human support

Respectful of and working alongside the medical team, honouring your choices within the medical framework.

Less stress and fear

Thanks to a reassuring, familiar and steady presence on the day of birth.

Better pain management

Through practical tools suited to your needs: breathing, movement, positions, massage, grounding.

Protecting your bubble as a couple

So that both of you can stay focused on the birth, without feeling alone or overwhelmed.

HOW IT WORKS

From preparation to the big day

Preparing together beforehand

Before the birth, we take the time to meet during prenatal sessions to:

  • get to know each other and build a trusting relationship
  • discuss your birth plan
  • talk about your expectations, your fears, your wishes
  • define together how I can best support you on the day
On-call availability around your due date

From around three weeks before your due date, I’m available and reachable so I can be with you as soon as labour begins.

This on-call period ensures reliable, continuous availability around your due date, without rushing or stress.

On the day of birth

Continuous support, adapted to your pace and your needs:

  • reassuring, holding presence
  • emotional support at every stage
  • suggestions for positions and movement
  • support through breathing and touch
  • verbal encouragement to help you stay grounded and confident

I adapt to what you’re experiencing, staying quietly present or more actively involved, depending on what you want.

A respectful, collaborative approach

My presence always works alongside the medical team:

  • at a maternity ward or birth centre, with the team’s agreement
  • at home, alongside the midwife, never replacing her role

I don’t intervene medically. My role is to offer emotional, physical and human support.

EVERY FAMILY IS UNIQUE

For you, and for those around you

For you

I support you through your birth experience, respecting your pace, your energy and your choices, so you can remain the one in charge of your birth.

Whether you’re accompanied by your partner, a loved one, or experiencing this birth as a solo parent, I adapt to your reality.

For the person supporting you

If you’re accompanied by your partner or a loved one, I can:

  • help them find their place
  • give them practical guidance to support you
  • help them experience this moment with more confidence and presence
